Hey APRYL - Yeah - my poetry is a little out there LOL
I do tend to write with the abstract as reference.
I thank you very much for taking the time to comment on this poem.
I'm glad you like it so much!

Jacquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

YAY! Thought I would brag a little teensy weensy bit!
I just got note that this poem will be published in the Queer Collection: Prose and Poetry 2008
I submitted 4 poems for this collection and they liked Origami Secret!
Tis one of a few times I've submitted poetry for publication consideration in the last year or so - so it was a very nice surprise!

Thanx you all again for commenting my poem and YAY me for FINALLY having a poem accepted!

Jacquii.

Apologies for such a late response - I didn't know YAWL had commented my poem - Anywya - Thanx so much MS MANGO and TOM for your comments and congrats! It's one of a few poems that I've actually been paid for creating - so it's nice!

I think, what I like the most about this poem is the delicacy of it all. The font, the color, the form...all delicate like a baby bird just out of its shell and the tree or bush its nest would be in.

Their throne is delicate and their wings
like paper origami.

This is sooooo beautiful! Paper origami wings. So many times I've seen origami swans and loved the beauty of them.

I'm in awe, but think you already knew that, lol.
hugs,
Gail

Dear Ms Jacquii,

I came back for another read and still blown away by this piece. The creation of this is just amazing and needs to be created in an art piece as well. Stunning!

This is beautiful - I love the imagery and how I could picture certain parts of this piece. Good work

Thanx you so much MS GAIL - I love your reaction to this poem - and Yes - I imagine I did intentionally mean for this one to be delicate- just like the folds when doing an origami structure - the 2-line stanza was meant to be like a crisp and succinct fold - I'm so happy you saw my intentions with this poem.

Thank you too so very much MS KIM - There was actually one time in gradeschool when the teacher (I think it was 1st grade or 2nd grade) had actually sought to teach the class how to do an origami bird - And of course - me being artistically challenged LOL - just couldn't hang on to the concept - But I've always admired the origami structure ever since... Thanx again for the poetic love GIRL!

Hey FLOOK - I thank you as well for the poetic love - I'm glad you like this poem of mine - It is a bit special to me as it does describe somewhat my psyche at the time of its creation!

Thanx very much LADIES - appreciate the comments

Jacquii.
