Persephone Abandoned
Persephone jumped
across a moonbeam
blocking her path
catching up the wild
flowers of Olympus
pouting, wrinkled brow
scowling, scheming, engrossed
in her wicked thoughts
floating now and again
on the higher planes
of the Milky Way
planning
revenge on her
sometimes husband
Hades
who kidnapped her
made her fall in love
with a tall, leather bound body
muscles rippling, biceps flexing
every time he moved
legs were solid sinew glistening
stalking closer
when he raged
oftimes to drag her
flutterings deep in her belly
most willingly
to their boudoir
of love
fulfillment…at last
raven’s hair falling
softly around her face
as he kissed her
violently
never getting enough
of her trembling lips
His fault!
That now she was banished
abandoned
in her mother’s garden
in heat…
His fault!
she had come to yearn
each night
each time her eyes fell
on his dark visage
now misbegotten
alone he roamed
as if caged
in Hell.
Nearby Elysian Fields, those
beauteous fields
unimaginable joys abound
memories, amid arbors of
magical flora
when they…the two
god and goddess of the Underworld
strolled majestically through
playfully frolicking
like children at first love
happy laughter trickling
down, to
the bartered souls
calling out for mercy
in Hell
When will he come?
He was known to defy
her father/god….Zeus
When will he
my husband…love
me…kidnap me...again?

Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical, and expecting more than others think is possible."
