Pizzahouse Poem [For Gina]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

come to me
with passion in your
"i love you"
soul
in your commitment

i will be waiting there
with a slice of pizza
and diet coke

waiting, apart, do
you want freedom?
smoke a cigarrette
strength in your kiss?
try your arm
and heart in your embrace?
paint a pillow
sleep and dream
with the stars above
you
tonight
won't you, love?
my thoughts are with you
until we are together
do not feel alone!
see yourself there
in the light
in this one life
natural
and know that that
light
crossing
distance
is not so far
and you are not so far from celestial love
or mine
i will be there, for you, in the future!
may the stars keep you until then

and please know that that power is
in your mind, heart
and hands
together and all
are made of
this life
you are strong
in our strength
and vulnerability
and courage
we are borrowing
so let us be kind
give empathy
if there is no certainty how to serve
the Lord
we are the stuff of angels!!!

forge, embrace, hope
for all !
let's have a greater love
let us know the spiritual evolution
- it's a revolution -
and have tolerance
for our enemies

because "i forgive"
can be the greatest words,
i
feel,
that can be humanly said
and yes i sing that same old tune
in these troubled times
we embrace and cry and laugh and wonder

below
and above
the rainbows and the comets
persist
as ever
perplexing me
as man
with
strange voices
whispers
things invisible to see
the message an imprinted oath
secret of the ages
or maybe these are delusions
of a mind in fantasy
but i do have faith

our story is but a wink in God's eye
yes less than a fraction
and not unknown
i
see
divinity, grace
and glory
are
yet
designed with us

magnificant

with us
in mind
with us to live
being and essence, under that controlling hand
we
belong
men and women all
and
you
and
i
He is in our minds

and i am a mirror telling you you are beautiful
even in the cold cold drear night
exposed
freely
even alone
artist or outsider
even undone
even
one
like
me
i wish for salvation
in the pure light's glory song
like a monk i know
you have not been forgotten
smile!

and i hear you cry and tremble and shake and we both ask
"Who are we?" and "what are we here to do?"
"why do we breathe?" "Is it just to love?"
these are the trials of a time of trials and tribulations
confusion
present in our fear
and in our paranoia
spawned by watchful cameras
and men who wish to control
out in the forest wilderness
you'll find your meanings there
reflections
mutations
colors
of will
and predestiny
in the lake at moonlight's shining
atoms
and in the sun's rising
example
swim in rivers
see lake reflections
go,
live, love, try to know
expand, give, and grow

kiss a hippy
hug a poet
punch an actor
sue all lawyers
and
smash all guitars

and at the end of the day
have your pizza and diet coke
for five dollars
yes, you can make it
five dollars
through this seemingly indifferent and cruel life

yes, come to me, my sweetheart
and endear yourself to me
we can make it together
i adore you
i will tell you
"i love you"
with passion
and in my commitment

my home ...
i see where i belong
is right here
in

your

big

shining

eyes

with my slice of pizza and with my diet coke

and i can tell you what is real

that i love you!!! Truly, deeply, and madly!!!

Pizzahouse Poem? Paul I am almost terrified of the lyrics you have shared with us... I was preaching words. Not quite a sermon, but words that are earily similar.... You speak of a destiny hard-sought, but more importantly, a destiny that has been earned by being true to self.

Your poem is a beckoning of sorts - As if you are actually goading an antagonist to approach your very own realm - I love this! Your poem speaks of an unfathomable strength that WILL NOT BE DENIED! And I for 1 am loving the voice with which this poem is spoken with!

My own voices has seen some peculiar visions that my very own eyes have refused to comprehend tonite - You poem lends a bit of vision to my eyes.

Interesting poem PAUL - Thanx for sharing it!

JAcquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---
