Default Poetry Mr. Monster Started This Thread
So I bare everything
for a stanza or two.
What a strange system,
I gotta tell you.

I sit and I think and I type.
Sometimes rhyming, othertimes just a rambling mess.
Sometimes taking hours just to think of a single word.
Well it's worth it, I guess.

To try and organize my thoughts,
trying to coral and lasso fog.
Oops! I just fucked myself over there,
unless I can think of a good use for 'snog'.

And then for months I can't do it,
it used to be easy to do this.
Does that reflect on me or the earlier product?
Oh well, you guys get the gist. Right?

This is like a "Writers Block Why Do You Taunt Me So" type of piece huh? LOL - I'm sure all writers at one time or other has experienced what you talk about in your poem. Anyway - thanks for the share.

Just in case you didn't see my chatbox shout or the profile message I left you:

Hi Mr. Monster,
Yeah.... I can relate to every word you wrote. . . maybe even the ones between the lines too. I wonder if we are just plain nuts spending so much time on one simple word?

This reminds me of my most favorite Oscar Wilde quote ==> I was working on the proof of one of my poems all the morning, and took out a comma. In the afternoon I put it back again."

Here I may have instead written:

How the hell can I write
and pull words out of this mind sucking bog."

I noted in bold your spelling error..... Coral is from the ocean isn't it? Anyways interesting write and has given me much to think of. You have an awesome understanding of writer's block imho. Thanks for a wonderful read.
