Default The Poet's: Space between Time. Curtis Spider Lee Started This Thread
The space between time is over there.
Within that space I sleep.
Here...I recall a dream once thought forgotten.
The place to where the wind goes after it as passed.
The place to where tender breezes flow.
To where everlasting skies hold rainbows.
To where weeping willows hang their heads down low and weep.
And low, they cry....so cry for me.
Or that missing poetic line.
Then to find it would have worked well within this rhyme.
O well, it too as found residence within this space.
The place to where honey-bees fly.
To where air-born balloons and kits go untied.
To where heart in love can find their skipped beat.
To where hope never dies and knows of no end.
To where my last breath stays once I lay rest my pen.
Under everlasting skies, weeping willows weep.
Within that space I forever sleep.
So don't cry for me, not this time.
Because there is no more room for tears-
in the space between time.
So here today, I lay rest my rhyme.

I hear you getting your flow on! I really liked how this poem flows so effortlessly. The lines I quoted above were especially nice to me. So soft, so carefree, so melancholy. So mellow. So relaxed. So my-kinda-place.

Thanks for the share

Jacquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

there's allot of imagery flowing there, even though there was allot I found myself wishing for even more, you were creating your own space so please be as descriptive as you wish,
I loved lines 1-3

Thanks for reading and your kind reply Erik!
I suppose I could have gone rampant for days as regards this space.
But either I ran out of space or it may have been better to spare you the ballistics...lol
Well in either case, i'm thankful you enjoy this write!

Hey Lil Brother,

That place, that golden place tween' time. The space can feel like an eternity, or another plane, or simply like yesterday. This was a thinking poem, and my mind wondered and went there with every "to where," and quite frankly, some places I wish to stay. Thank you for this lovely read lil brother...it is another window into you.

Have missed your style curtis. been a long time and nice to see you. this is a cool piece. all the imagery around one evasive phrase. the same phrase thats leading around the work i cant seem to get started lol.

my grandfather, when he couldnt think of a word, would pretend he was trying to pick it out of the air...where is that word, where is that word while he was picking at the air. this piece reminded me of that. dont know why, but i got a good smile out of it.

There's much I've missed about writing poetry, one being I don't write it as well as this, lol.
The imagery is whimsical, thoughts skipping through your mind and dripping down the nub of your pen.
I loved the images and the feelings I associate with them but it was the lines in the middle which caught my fancy:

...And low, they cry....so cry for me.
Or that missing poetic line.
Then to find it would have worked well within this rhyme.
O well, it too as found residence within this space...

I can't tell you how many times I've been in that position "What to say next? Have no idea.... Crap!"
put pencil down and do something else. I thoroughly loved this,

Gail
