September 11

Reason walks with faith
Black walks with white
German walks with jew
This is a most beautiful glorious sight

And then September 11 destruction
Reminds us of the horror and terror
That permeates our histories
Our cultures' and religions' errors

And the world is opened again to our eyes
In all its petty and brutal truth we despise
The broken and disconnected lies
That so oft' leads us into our love's demise

And then begins our irrational hate
Of those who are different; we cannot wait
To pridefully our countries and religions celebrate
And kill the ones of different face

To kill the ones of a different place
To kill the ones of a different race
Everyone must put everyone in their place
Until truth shall come and show its face

So listen before acting, learn before you judge
Before the order is sent and the soldiers on both sides must trudge
Children of the Earth, of the universe, of the one
We must here listen and be enlightened before the damage is done

Dear True,
I have been thinking about Sept 11th, perhaps because we are about to dawn upon another anniversary, another memory. Powerful and sad words you have scribed here. This poem is a must read for in it, one can find hope & healing. Thank you for this.

Yeah PAUL - this is a profound read, packed with truthful knowledge. One can embrace your words and learn from mistakes of the past, for what is nationalism and patriotism, whilst we sneak behind backs and suicide-bomb attack?

Yeah - another anniversary is on the precipice... Let's hope that the world can learn from such devistation, rather than reason that it's for God that we kill... Unfortunately I'm a bit cynical in believing that this can be true: Look at Israel and others warring over boundary lines...

Anyway - Thanx for this read - I enjoyed it thoroughly - In fact I think I'll post a poem quite similar to this. Thanx for the inspiration and motivation that is inherent in your words

Jacquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

Love your message and your way of saying it! Yes, let the horror and terror and bigotry in our history STAY in our past, we don't need it in our present and certainly do not want it in our future! Good write!
