Before you read the poem I want to explain it. This poem is about my 8 year old daughter's biological father. He was in and out of her live until she was two then he hasn't seen her in the last six years. She doesn't understand what happened because she doesn't remember him. My husband is her "daddy" and she is better off this way. Her father killed himself over the weekend and I wrote this to help me deal with my mixed emotions for at point in time I did love him.

She is better of without him

She is better off without him
But the way he went is wrong
Why didn't you help him better?
This is not right how could this happen.

Her life will be better now
Nobody cared enough to stop him
He told you good bye
Still you did nothing.

She doesn't remember him
Now he is gone
You were his wife
How could you sleep with his brother?

She is better off without him
He took the easy way out
And now you have to live with the guilt.
She has a "daddy" thats all that matters.

She IS better off without him!

Life's a bitch then you die!!!!

I read the obituary. They cared so much about their granddaughter, they misspelled her name, which shouldn't be surprising since I don't remember Racheul ever talking about her daughter being around her father's parents or her father for that matter. It's a shame since Mikayla is a sweet, beautiful little girl.

I don't know much about her father, other than what crazymamma has told me, but it sounds like she managed to get out of that relationship in time. Since Racheul hasn't said how he died, I won't go into it but will say I'm not surprised.

Racheul, I will say from what you've told me about him and the enabling relationship he had with his family, that they are all to blame for what happened and no one is to blame. It's a hard thing to deal with in the best of times, but you have so many loving people ready to help and listen to you and Mikayla deal with this.

Love,
Gail
