Stardust

Lost at the crossroads of my expectations
In the years of disenchantment
My life remains a falling tear
It is not for I that I do weep, but for all
Is there disgrace in emotion?
Or shall we all remain transfixed in malaise?
Though they say time wistfully swirls
And I lament the err of our ways
I am the dog that finally caught
Its tail and learned nothing from the experience
I have drank the wine of rose pedals and stardust
And listened as the nightengale sang harmonious melodies
Of tales untold
In the fields of gold
We are but silohuettes upon the horizon
Filled with uncertainties
And I with the solitude
Which I have come to embrace
I have walked many years
In my blind quest for truth
And will dilligently continue to
As daylight last sparks
Until my heart ceases its fervent pulsing
As fleeting life unfurls

Dear True, in reading this I get the sense that you are speaking for the many experiences you have gone through, yet some lines say we. In the end, I feel sadness and you being alone, not necessarily without someone, yet alone in spirit. If that makes sense. I feel that despite this, you will continue to find the truth, find the peace, find the missing piece. What was your inspiration for this piece? I am completely in awe of this! I believe this is, no, I know, this is my favorite poem of yours!!!!!!!! And the following line is brilliant....

I have drank the wine of rose pedals and stardust

Much Luv'.....Painted aka Kim (MY FAVORITE!!!!!!)

Thank you, Painted!

This has always been my favourite poem. I wrote it in highschool [grade eleven, I think].
I was dismayed when nobody noticed/responded to this one. Because I love getting positive feedback. I could feed on it. Just kidding. You want to know what my inspiration was? It's one of my all time favourite musicians ... Jeff Buckley. He had a song called LILAC WINE. I don't think he wrote it, but it is a beautiful song. Sadly, Jeff died in 1997 by drowning. Though they do have a great website where you can listen to all of his songs.

Once again, thank you for your kind words. I think highly of your poems, and of you, so it means something special to get such positive feedback from you.
