Upon Still Waters

Upon still waters the maple leaf lays
not sinking nor floating, just waiting
for the wind to catch it's breath and play.

Deep in still ponds, where shadows spawn
the riches to feed the earth
rumbles a bubble that dares to grumble
and is released in a gaseous display.

It bursts beneath the maple leaf
tumbling it in the waves
till slowly now ... ever so slowly now
it sinks beneath the surface.

Silently the wind picks up
and laughs with the watery waves
as they both give witness to another jewel
they have captured this very day.

Today, upon still waters the maple leaf lays
not sinking nor floating, just waiting
for the wind to catch it's breath and play.

A little playful, but calm and real to nature...life waiting to happen...I feel this piece is there in front of me as I'm sitting by the pond, mesmerized...beautifully painted, Mysty!!

Dear Mysty,

I do love this poem and especially the following:

Silently the wind picks up
and laughs with the watery waves
as they both give witness to another jewel
they have captured this very day.

I love the playfulness, balance, and harmony entwined in the poem as well. However, feeling sad today, my mind thought of me being the leaf, I'm not sinking nor floating, just waiting for the wind to catch it's breath and play, and my life to calm down once again. So reading gave me a safe, harmonious, and tranquil place to rest my mind...even for a little bit. Thanks for posting Mysty. Love Ya!
