Wild Wonderful West Virginia
This is an Italian Madrigal, or love poem, written about my true love, West Virginia. If you've never been, I highly suggest taking a trip to the New or Gauley Rivers. Both are amazingly beautiful. Any suggestions or revisions would be appreciated.
Wild Wonderful West Virginia
She is no women, but still
Her white pines, whoopla wilderness,
And wigwag green grasses call me.
My loyalty lies wanton for the
Hidden Appalachian Mountain
Treasures that rest in wavy woods.
Energy flows wholeheartedly
In the whitewater, wavelets of
Warble sounds in the New and Gauley.
All hearts of all warm mammalian
Would love to be West Virginian.
