Destruction, violence, catastrophe
and tears,
the homeless and wealthy
seem to combine fears.

This world of war, drugs, killing
and sorrow I read,
we have something in common,
we all hurt
we all bleed.

The present is falling,
the future is weak,
it's the children
we must save,
and their obstacles,
we must defeat.

Never, Never____ Stop Painting Your Diary!!

Hey KIM - I watched an old George Carlin comedy-set the otherday - And to say that he was a bit cynical about "children being the future..." is the most cringing understatement of the year - I think he said "Fuk the children" LOL

I was laughing as robustly as anyone else. But then I read this poem.

It speaks truth girl! Thanx for sharing it with us!

Jacquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---
