Fantasia: American Idol
I am loving this new album of Fantasia's - Can't say it is my favorite, but I can say Girl has got some MAD VOCALS that many of the same genre would pay big-bugs to have a piece of....
The song that's touted as the "single" is of course not my favorite song. Me of the old school...... I love some of her other more traditional heart-stompers --- but then of course I wouldn't show up on Jay Leno's stage wearing 5-inch, I'm-gonna-kiss-my-Mama-in-Hell-before-you-will Gucci boots of the $2000 caliber type... ** Hood Boy(featuring Big Boi of Outkast fame)
And though Fantasia mixes it up with dance tunes, as well as other fast mixes, there are some more sedate forms for people of the Old Skool (like myself)
*** I Nominate U(heard below) & I Feel Beautiful are destined to be looked over in the club circuit - but personally I feel these are the best of the album.
Again -- Seems the year of American Idol R&B --- 1st Ruben & now Fantasia stomps onto the runway and really neither can be denied!
Fantasia is a FANTASTIC 9 of 10 --- Now what we have to look forward to is actually hearing her voice, rather than see her stomp around uncerimoniously thick in boots she has no business wearing.
First, I want to say this is a fantabulous review you shared with us!!!! You have so many talents I cannot keep up with! Shewwwww!!!!! The clip you shared was excellent, as we are starting to see Ms Fantasia evolve into her own. She did mix it up here with some funky moves and collaborating, and yet we heard more of that oh so soulful, powerful, I learned to sing in church voice. I must admit...I was scared of that red outfit though! LOL!!! I too, love the "old school", and she can deliver beautifully in that genre as well. Yes, the boots must go, lol!!!! Go American Idol! Thank you for sharing this with us Ms Jacquii.
