Default Breath of God shawnie Started This Thread
The breath of God
Blows me over,
Brushes me to and fro.

Sends chills
Down my spine.
Teaches me things
I should know.

It leads me,
Like a shepherd
To a better land.
Feeds me ever
So slowly,
Gently, from his Hand.

His love so thunderously
Potent
It drives away all pain.
His mercy &
Wonderful kindness
Helps me believe again.

Oh the wondrous
Breath of God,
That touches me
Each day.
Softly flittering past
My life in such
A moving way.

With each small breeze
That He allows,
Things inside me change.
The anger, hurt, & other things
Begin to lose their reign.

He gently carries me
On His wings,
Holding my spirit true.
Gliding smoothly
Through my heart and
Getting rid of all the blue.

The rainbow of my heart
Now comes with
Yellows, reds, and greens.
For when the Lord
Is welcomed in
He has to change the scene.

He kicks out all the
Dirt & junk that
I have held so dear.
He erases all the yucky mess..
Doubts, strife, and fears.

He loves me so much
That he sent His son
To die upon that tree
So that he would
Rise again
And set my spirit free.

He didn’t promise
All my days
Would be rosey, purple passion pink.
But he did say
That he’s always here,
Even when I don’t think.

So when you’re walking
And you feel that touch
That rustles through the trees,
Close your eyes,
Lift up your heart,
You have just witnessed
When God breathes.

Shawnie,
This was simply BEAUTIFUL! It is so true, even the wind sends his messages to us. Funny, cause I took a long walk today, and it was raining lightly, thinking about my sister. My sister just passed away this month on the 7th, and when I heard something strange, or a russle, I said that was her telling me she is ok and by his side. I am sorry to write so much, just that your poem really moved me, and reminded me of that. Take Care sister, and thank you for writing this, AGAIN IT'S BEAUTIFUL. Much Luv'.

Hey SHAWNIE - PAINTEDDIARY describes this very well with "simply beautiful" -----> I'd take it a step further and say that this write is exquisitely breathtaking... Ah - To know the breath of God...

The anger, hurt, & other things
Begin to lose their reign.

So many - I assume anyway - should know the feeling of hateful things losing their reign... I myself - wish to know this feeling.

Beautiful piece SHAWNIE - Thanx for sharing such heartfelt spirituality!

Jacquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---

This is a poem that is good in its conciseness and brevity. It's rhymes well. This is a poem with meaning. And afterall I think that such sincerity and straightforward honesty is of the noblest of pursuits for a poem. I always prefer a poem with good meaning over a poem that is purely technical. As a reader (and a person) I think I am better off for hearing this poem.
