Father
When I stand before your face,
In Your Holy, Heavenly place,
Full of knowledge of my sin,
As You view my heart within.
Father, I will feel ashamed,
Knowing no one else is blamed,
For the things that I have done,
There you’ll count them, one by one.
There’s no doubt, I’ll stand and weep,
Feeling like a long, lost sheep,
Standing stooped, head bowed in shame,
As You call each sin by name.
Shame will feed my flow of tears,
As my life rolls by in years,
When at last, this time is done,
And You remind me that Your Son,
Paid the price for me today,
All my sin is washed away,
Standing there, clothed in Your Grace,
Finally I can see Your face,
Eternal praises are Your due,
Time unending, spent with You,
No more sorrow, no more pain,
To know such joy, to die is gain.
