Default Lost to the Night erikestabrook Started This Thread
fragments, forboding,
encompassed by loathing,
the shiver, will shimmer,
taken to never waking,
as we build up our reality,
to only sustain the light,
we built our structure,
to only regain the dim, awareness,
that in the night exists so much peril,
sad existence can only give you blinders,
to be in-touch with both sides,
you need to be to follow,
I have not seen,
a night of peace,
most foul happenings,
never exist in front of day-light eyes,
still beings,
who hold no shape,
tend to find in the night they take,
How long until your walls get torn by night?,
How long until even day-dwellers,
have no fear, ruining your safety?,
when the day won't take you away,
I see your sorrow is without restrain,
when in the night, you fill the hollow,
will I recognize you tomorrow?,
now I put up my daily sight,
looking out for faith in ruins,
lost to the night.

Dear Erik,

Once again, I must say that I have read all of your pieces and am pleased with your evolution as a writer / poet, and it simply warms my heart . You are in the realm of scribing more intense, thought-provoking pieces lately. Just Beautiful. The person seems that with the blanket of night, comes fear, comes doubts, comes grief. The person who sustains you, and helps you hold on to the light is there, and will come back tomorrow. To ask will I recognize you tomorrow indicates that the person has been there before to comfort you, putting up your daily sight and closing your eyes finally in peace. A lot of emotion dripping in this piece Erik. May I ask, what was your inspiration for such a heavy scribe?
