A Love So Beautiful
This poem lacks the meter I generally employ in what I write. It was written to go with the music of a song called "A Love So Beautiful" I believe it was sung by Kenny Rogers and perhaps Sting. If you are familiar with the tune of that song it will make reading of this one easier. It started out as a love poem for a person but I quickly realized that a love so beautiful had to be for Christ.
A Love So Beautiful
1…. I cannot help but feel the way I do, for you,
I contemplate the things that you have done and do
A love so beautiful, Eternally
A love so beautiful, you set my spirit free
2… You gave to me a love that I’d not known before,
You quenched a lasting thirst that I would thirst no more,
You are so beautiful; You’ve satisfied,
You are so beautiful; for me Jesus, You died,
Chorus
I pray each day from this day on, I see,
The life and love you gave me,
A love so beautiful, Christ Crucified,
A love so beautiful, for all the world You died,
3… You bid me come and called me from the darkness, past,
You gave me hope and joy and promised it would last,
A life so beautiful; I live again,
A life so beautiful; with You will I remain,
4… You planted seeds of love within this heart of mine,
You broke your bread and gave to me your cup of wine,
A deed so beautiful; in awe I stand,
A deed so beautiful; I can’t comprehend.
Chorus
I pray each day from this day on, I see,
The life and love you gave me,
A love so beautiful, Christ Crucified,
A love so beautiful, for all the world You died,
5… You gladly bore my sins upon that cross of shame,
In humbleness you shouldered all the world’s blame,
Your love so beautiful; You gave to me,
Your love so beautiful; that we could all go free,
6… Though innocent from birth to death, you suffered scorn,
They mocked the King and crowned You with a crown of thorns,
You are so beautiful; You are the King,
You are so beautiful; we owe you everything.
Chorus
I pray each day from this day on, I see,
The life and love you gave me,
A love so beautiful, Christ Crucified,
A love so beautiful, for all the world You died,
7… You suffered as they pierced your flesh with nails of steel,
And all the while, love in your heart is all you feel,
You are so beautiful; Christ crucified,
You are so beautiful; for sinners you have died.
8… You bore my stripes, upon your back; you felt my pain,
You suffered all the sadness of the world’s disdain,
Christ, You are beautiful; God’s gift to all,
Christ, you are beautiful; I have heard your call,
Chorus
I pray each day from this day on, I see,
The life and love you gave me,
A love so beautiful, Christ Crucified,
A love so beautiful, for all the world You died,
9… In agony, you gave it all with your last breath,
Committed to Your love for all, unto the death.
A love so beautiful; removed my sin,
A love so beautiful; I scarce can take it in.
10… Oh glorious day, when from Your cold, death tomb, repose,
A bright new day with death defeated, You arose,
A life so beautiful; I love You so,
A life so beautiful; I want the world to know.
Chorus
I pray each day from this day on, I see,
The life and love you gave me,
A love so beautiful, Christ Crucified,
A love so beautiful, for all the world You died,

Yes indeed...a love so beautiful and divine is the love of Christ. Ron, this was such a pleasure to read. The poem / song clearly depicts the diary of Christ and what it means to us. This was simply beautiful in craft, execution, and the orchestration of the word selection. I have found the level of acumen in your scribes to be masterful. Please continue to adorn this community with your painted words. Again, I am very fond of your work, and always meaning to ask if you are published. Nevertheless, I applaud you Ron, and thank you for yet another beautiful page. Take Care.

Re: A Love So Beautiful
Kim,
Always so nice. This was yet another page in my diary. There was a time when I could not have written these words. There was a time when I was wandering in the darkness, searching, as so many will do. My journey is still a struggle. But, I know I am going in the right direction. As you have read from my diary, I have walked on tainted grounds. Poetry, whether real or fantasy often comes from the diary of the heart. Yes, I have self-published two books. One I had done locally in my home town with a printing company and the second one I had done in India. It is not of the quality as the first book but I was able to put twice as much in it and for half the price. I have found though, people are interested in reading poetry in the library or on line. They do not purchase poetry books. My first book, about sixty pages, was almost entirely love poems and is called "From the Heart". The second one is about 132 pages and is called "Water From the Well". It is a collection of various poems. I probably will not do a third book. Again, as always, thank you for you very kind words.
Ron

Re: A Love So Beautiful
Ron Bliss, Your poem was executed skillfully and beautifully. If only everyone could love Jesus Christ as much as your poem depicts all would be well with the world. You wouln't turn on the News in the morning and hear of all the shootings that happened during the night. I loved your poem. Congratulations on having your poems published. Who published your poems in India? Are they a good Publishing Co.? You see, I had one book published by Authorhouse.com and two by iUniverse.com and would say that I received more care and attention from iUniverse.com even though they are a self Publishing Company. Still you have to promote your own books unless you want to pay a fortune for them to do it for you and it is quite hard to do. I wrote an inciteful, terribly wonderful novel titled, 'A Chosen Journey,' and it is hard to get it out there to the Public to sell. I find myself buying them and giving them away which is just spending my own money, but the ones that I do give away receive rave reviews and go and on about what a wonderful story that I wrote. I give up on Publishing, it is a dream that has died for me because the Publishers want too much. I want to welcome you to my site at: www.spiritual-harmny.com I am sure that you will find much that will interest you and make sure that you go to the Web Directory and browse around there too. There are many pages of subjects that will interest you. May God bless you on your chosen journey of love for Christ and I might add that I am so proud of you not to be ashamed to write of Jesus Christ as so many people are. Sincerely, tamm0449

Re: A Love So Beautiful
Hi, Tamara,
Thank you for commenting on A Love So Beautiful...... yes, I have thougt so many times how much better the world would be if only Christ were in more hearts. I see so much going wrong with our nation and I have to wonder if much of it is because we are withdrawing from God more and more each day.
Regarding the India Publishing company, I was contacted by a gentleman named Karunesh Kumar Agrawal (CEO). He wanted to use one of my poems in a publication and was seeking permission. I went to the website at
A Site for the Promotion of the Developing and Established Writers.
and noted they did book publishing, inquired about the price and we struck up a deal by email. The quality of the books are not as good as what I had done in a local print shop but much cheaper and I got many more pages to boot. I did it as much for myself as anything. Sort of an ego trip. Glad I did but no one buys poetry books. I have given away as many as I have sold. Didn't really have the printing done to make a profit, just to break even. Won't even do that. But......... I don't feel so bad, when I see Hillary Clinton, Bob Dole's and Al Gore's books for sale in the the Dollar stores for one dollar, eh...... I'll give them away........ most of what I sold I did so to friends and people who know me and through my website. I am dwindlig them down now so it is a venture I don't regret but probably will not do another book. I am writing a family history book now and will probably publish it in India but with as few of copies as I can, just for family and so on.
Once again,, thank you for reading my poem and responding.
Ron
