Elohim, the Strong One;
my strength is gone Papa
El-roi, the Strong One who sees;
my tired eyes cannot see
Jehovah-jireh, He is our Provider;
i have so many needs...so many
Jehovah-raffa, He is our Healer;
but my body is broken and shattered
Jehovah-nissi, He is our Banner;
I need a champion and savior
Jehovah-ra'ah, He is our Shepherd;
I need a guide whose voice I know
Jehovah-shalom, He is our Peace;
take your place now
Jehovah-tsidkenu, He is our Righteousness;
as it should have always been, complete your work in me
Jehovah-shammah, He is Present.”
I need you here tonite

love,

david

Wow Zaac - this piece is really quite brilliant. A nice tribute to the higher power by whatever name he or she is called. I'm perplexed though- why are your recent poems always "untitled" - This one at least certainly needs a name. I would call it "He, The Holy, The Sanctified, The Peace of Mind" or some such...

Anyway - thanks for the share - I really REALLy enjoyed this piece, and you know as well as any that I'm not much into religious type thangs... But this poem seems to surpass "religion" quite easily, and slid right on into the spiritual realm like a man on 3rd heading home.

5 stars.

Jacquii.

“I do use powerful words to evoke emotion, but also to stimulate imagination. If one can 'see' the words dance before
his eyes - then he can likely feel, smell and even taste them as well. And I do thoroughly enjoy really tasty poems.
My poetry is an emotions-fest sprinkled with a little garlic salt, Mrs. Dash, fresh ginger and Tabasco sauce...
My poetry is like a piece of General Tso's chicken tossed in ghetto soul.” ---
