The best rejection letter came in the mail today. It started out as a photo-copied form letter, but the bottom half of the page was written in ink by hand..telling me that I had the word count wrong, that my story was very nice, etc..... it was so sweet. Pretty cool huh? The kicker of the whole thing is...
I was in a rush to submit my manuscript and totally spaced putting a SASE in the mailer...it was in the postman's hands headed toward the bin when I remembered. I figured...let it go. If they hate it, I'll just wait the obligatory 2-4 months and resubmit elsewhere.
What does this mean?
It means that the editor took my address from my cover letter and paid for the postage to send me a beautiful rejection, lol.
How cool is that!
I'm gonna send them more stories.....and I'll get the word count right this time.
