McCain is a bit of a wildcard as far as the GOP is ocncerned LOL - I think the "GOP" as a whole is scared of the audacity he represents...

A "war-monger" --- hmmmm..... I suppose that could be said of all males who have ever sought the presidency of the US..... And to that end - I think I'd rather a war-monger - than some type of pull-em-all-the-way-out coward, which seems to have become quite the song of Obama's camp.

Jacquii.

ps - no burning 'less I get the matches LOL

it's just that i really am not so open to mccain's policies when it comes to anything dealing with the disputes in the mid-east - i have a confession, i had a brother who was seriously injured there. i just want our boys to come back home. that aside, i honestly think that a clean slate is what America needs right now. i'm about to finish college and i am filled with all these ideas (aren't we all...), and i think that obama has the right tone. of course, this is a humble opinion coming from a 21-year old soon-to-be psychologist, and should be taken at face value. that said, i still agree with the polls - obama is definitely the candidate to beat.

Hello to all friends!!
My point of view is that I am for peace, not for war, not for violence. There are so many American young soldiers who are dying in wars abroad. That fact is very sad for me. I have a heart for those American brave men. Many times, the U.S. Government don´t pay attention to the common people and their needs, instead they focus in the private companies and their financial interests. So, in other words, greed, power and money prevail, instead of compassion and caring for the American average people.
God bless America, the greatest Nation on Earth!!
Cordially,
Starry.

Hello!

Well, I started reading this whole thread to get more info and see what other people are thinking about the candidates. I don't know who to pick truthfully, and I just updated my voter's card so I'm definitely going to vote in the upcoming election. Like MsJacquii was saying I noticed that Obama removed himself from his church and I just thought that he did this to cover himself and didn't really like that at all.

I don't know much about McCain and would have to research him more. I want to make a good decision about who to vote for but I'm kinda at a loss with it. It doesn't help that I'm an extremely indescive person anyways.

i dont see the puppet string thing happening at all.

if you read the stories, he left the church due to statements his pastor had made and it offended Obama and he distanced himself from them for that fact alone. The pastor was basically trying to use obama as a platform of his own making and obama slapped him down and i applaud him for that.

Its not the name of jfk being invoked. it is indeed the concept of hope. people think its cliche to say where there is hope there is change, but where hope is action must follow and change must occur with every action we take.

ok lets talk iraq. this whole damn war was never about liberation. it was about making deals with the largest of the arab emirates, the biggest of which George HW is the CEO of. the deal was to get back at saddam for invading kuwait by letting us take him out and use our tax dollars for our kids to stand guard over people builiding refineries and pipelines from the Iraq oil fields to the saudi's. George Bush's "stay the course" really means wait, were not done yet, whilst our economy went into the shitter cuz of oil prices set by the saudi's. whats wrong with this picture. in a snapshot, we took out saddam and they're stealing his oil. The shame is that the Iraqi people will never really see any of those profits.

by the way, its not evoking...its invoking. as far as the dead ancestors, john mccain is the one with the commercial. if obama had made one like that i would have not liked it either. John McCain playing the wounded pow card is like obama playing the race card. get real.

Oh wow! I'm sorry to hear about your Brother. It truly can be said that our Armed Forces have risked greatly in this most recent "War on Terrorism" --- I can agree that there has to be some sort of change - but speaking solely on the Iraq situation. How can we just 'get out of there' with a swift quickness - knowing that there has been tremendous improvements and strides made towards sharing our democratic principles.

Not to be completely numb to the woes there - But American Soldiers knew when they signed up with the Armed Forces what could be the possible outcome of such service. War is not fun stuff. Especially when you have cowards -- hiding in shadow -- encroaching from near and far...

And please - 21 years old and pschology student - That's quite an accomplishment and believe you do have a voice. You have a vote too - so it's only natural that you'd have opinions on the political election as well! I still think though - that Obama hasn't a chance unless he embraces Hillary as his running mate. That type of team would be something to reckon with.

So true MS STARRY - But truly - Can you honestly ask yourself "When has the world not ever been at war?" I think you'll be startled to find the answer is "NEVER" --- Since the inception of the world - the world has been fighting each other. And I'm one that believes that this current "War on Terrorism" is being waged for a noble cause. But then again - it's quite hard to put a face on terrorism - when the terrorists are hiding under cover of darkness. And to think the recent Supreme Court decision has even given some of the "enemy combatants" basically the same rights as an American citizen...

You might find John McCain's rebuke of the decision quite interesting: McCain slams Supreme Court on terrorist detainees -- Apparently Obama hasn't offered a comment as far as I know of...

LOL - you've got to be kiddding - You actually believe that dreadful statement you just made? Then you're more insane than I first thought... Any idiot would be able to see that Obama left that church because he thought it would better his presidential aspirations...
