Good Morning all friends!!
Well, I think, this post is very interesting and so important, if you express your own sincere thoughts. I may add my little contribution today that, whoever wins to become the next U.S. President should change many things, not only in International Affairs, but also in Domestic Areas back home. For instance, health insurance issues should be improved with more benefits for the people, more social benefits and welfare -in general- should be improved, retirement plans and payments should be improved, animal´s protection against cruelty should be improved and so much more that the list would be almost endless.
I guess, the next U.S. President would need a WHOLE ARMY OF ADVISORS TO HELP WITH THE NEW ISSUES.
It is sooo good to express your ideas in this post.
Bye for now, friends!!
Warm Regards,
Starry.

Ha! Nicely stated MS STARRY and I agree. Sometimes the US seems so bogged down and overextended in international affairs that we tend to be more lax with issues right at home...

I wonder if the Democratic Party -- which is currently calling for a pullback of all forces in Iraq -- has any agenda to contribute the billions of savings from that "war" back into domestic affairs HERE which will help the United States citizens, and particularly the Social Security system. If yes - NOW would be the perfect opportunity to make VOTERS and all citizens in general aware of the great plans.

Sadly - I doubt there is any plans of this sort though... What do YAWL think?

Jacquii.

Okay - I was in the official March on Washington for Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Transgendered Rights back in 1993... I was 17 years old and it was much fun...

There was a pretty kewl chant that got started - "We're Here - Were Queer - Let's Paint The White House PINK!"

So in an ingenious effort to lighten the mood - I have a question for you:
Spoiler

Dear Ms. Jacquii:
YES!! I was thinking in the same things about Social Security Benefits at home for the American Citizens, and other important issues within the States. I am not concerned about International Affairs, if the Americans suffer the way they have been suffering for the past several years, because of the many wars abroad. The price of gasoline is sky high, just as much as all other essential products, such as food, clothing, rent, health issues, medications and so on. Everything is soooo expensive in the States, nowadays.
I guess, U.S. politicians are using all the people´s money to maintain the wars abroad, instead of using the money for the Americans at home. That is not fair for the Americans, especially when they are loosing their young lives in foreign lands and away from their dear families.
Back in the 60´s, there was a saying: "MAKE LOVE, NOT WAR!!" But, you are too young to remember. I am basically talking about the Vietnam War. I have some U.S. Veterans´friends, who were in Vietnam. They told me dreadful stories about the Vietnam War. Plus, I had the honor to meet some brave heros from the Second World War. They also told me dreadful stories about the war. I am sure, this war must be so terrible too!! It must come to an end, as soon as possible, for the sake of those American Soldiers who risk their young lives out there. What do you think folks??...
Good Night, Ms. Jacquii!! Thank you for creating this awesome post!!
Cheers,
Starry.

Unfortunately, I can remember that! My cousin, from Arizona, had been staying with us and was drafted, he left for boot camp, then on to Vietnam from there. He went back to Arizona from there and became a preacher.

There's been many wars and conflicts since then. I think MsJaquii posted something on this thread about there hasn't been a time when peace has broken out worldwide (paraphrasing here), unfortunately, she's right. Please note this world has been run by men, perhaps it's time to give women a try?

hugs,
Gail
