Texas GOP shuns vendor who sold racist Obama button
A must-read because how f***ing stupid can these idiots be????

A racist button? Personally I think no - It's a funny button. Lighten up America. DAMN! It's called h-u-m-o-r!
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The Republican Party of Texas will donate proceeds from a vendor who sold a racist campaign button at the state convention last weekend, a party spokesman said Wednesday.

A vendor called Republicanmarket.com sold a button that read "If Obama is president ... will we still call it The White House?" The button was sold in a pavilion adjoining the convention hall in Houston.

Democrat Barack Obama is the first black to be the presumptive nominee of a major political party.

Jonathan Alcox, owner of Republicanmarket.com, said he didn't intend to offend anyone. He made 12 buttons and sold four of them, but said two of them were sold to reporters.

"We're into humor, not racism," said Alcox, who described himself as an independent who still may vote for Obama in November. "Why would I do that purposely? I thought it was funny."

He said the idea came from a political cartoon he saw in a newspaper.

Besides donating the $1,500 rent collected to Midwest flood victims, party spokesman Hans Klingler said the state GOP will bar the vendor from future events.

"This vendor need not apply to another Texas GOP state convention," Klingler said. "We will neither tolerate nor profit from bigotry."

Klingler said the party does not vet the merchandise being sold, but may consider doing so in the future. The button sales were first reported in The Dallas Morning News.

"The Republican Party of Texas told me I can never go there again. They're my biggest event," Alcox said. "It's pretty much put me out of business."

State GOP officials also have alerted the Republican National Convention in hopes that Alcox will not be allowed to sell merchandise at the national Republican convention.

The state Republican Party, whose platform is often far to the right of the national GOP, has been in hot water over diversity issues before.

In 1998 the Log Cabin Republicans, the nation's largest organization of gay Republicans, was denied a booth at the GOP state convention in Fort Worth and likened to the Ku Klux Klan by a Texas Republican Party spokesman.

"We don't allow pedophiles, transvestites or cross-dressers, either," then-GOP spokesman Robert Black said at the time. (( GASP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!))

OMG - When I read this I could not believe it! See - this is what happened when an air of "political ugh" aka "political correctness" is set as precedent: You exacerbate every little idiosyncrasy until there's nothing left - not even a smile or grin. These people are so cold, they look at you and you turn to ice. They are called anti-humor bots... They are humorless automatons, sort of like little sock puppets.... And then to think that they hate transvestites because transvestites are (in their tiny little brains) akin to pedophiles --- Such idiots...

Anyway - I thought some would appreciate this post for my sheer audacity in calling these horrid little muthafuckas out on their stupidity and anti-humor humor ways... Alas - I am not so funny all the time - so I've prepared an interesting assortment of buttons that are funny and indeed available over at Patriotic and Republican Products at Republican Market --- I think a lot of their stuff is quite cute - ridiculously funny is the Hillary KY-Fry button

Laugh on

Jacquii.
