Hello all.
I go by grinalot because I do a lot of that. Humor and music are my primary hobbies and they, along with the people I meet, every day things we do and my family prompt the grins.
I do enjoy writing and have written a couple of books, a stageplay, a screenplay, a weekly newspaper article and some poetry. After writing some parody music for the play (where I also sang bass), I also produced and directed the musical comedy stageplay with a cast of 66. The creative process is a thrill that I thrive on.
I am a fairly new poet (2001) who began writing to express my feelings and experiences about a disease I have called COPD. One poem led to a bunch of poems which led to a book of poetry about COPD. (I had never written one line of poetry before.) Worldwide publication followed in accredited medical journals and then by the American Lung Association last Fall. Along the way I was asked to be the Poet Laureate of NECA (National Emphysema/COPD Association); an honor I gratefully and humbly accepted on behalf of my fellow patients. (

Double-entendre poetry is a delight to me and I have decided that I might use this forum as a venue to try some of this type of poetry out on my unsuspecting peers. I call these poems 'Gruntings' and you should be able to pick up on the style and design points rather quickly. Here goes:
Some Grinners do it when they meet.
Many Grinners do it on their feet.
Brash Grinners do it on the street.
Favored Grinners do it in the back seat!
Are you a Grinner?
Lets see what you can tell me about the poem. What am I talking about? Who is in the back seat? What are all these people doing?
I await your replies.
