6AM Coffee

These days the sun doesn't
shine until 7:32AM or later
I wake up in the dark
but I like it that way
By the time I make it through
this maze of rooms and boxes
its 6:05AM and I was not a minute
to early or late
I put on my coffee and wait for
it to do its drip drop song
The TV never has anything good on
I pass the time by looking out my
picture window at the outside pond
And then my mind takes me away and
I try my best to unwind

The coffee is ready now
Once I add the lavish ingrediants
I can sit down once more
The taste is not to sweet or to sour
I can taste mostly coffee over sugar
The first cup is always the best of all
Its the moment I realize I am alone
So many empty chairs and dishes too
Boxes of unpacked memories
I want to get out but I don't know how
Everytime I drink my 6AM coffee I feel
a little light break through
I may have lost almost everything
but when the time is truly right
I will start again

It is quite lonely in
the early hours of each
morning, and the most
quiet.

Except for the tweeters
singing their songs.

The boxes... a reminder
of how unsettled the
heart really is, not to
mention the mind and
soul.

Cause whatever the
reason... the pleasure
of that coffee, is still
sipped alone while the
mind wonders.

Hey LEE-ANN - yes - I know this emotion so well: Loneliness. Trying to break the tedium of everyday life.... Alone.... Interesting poem. Interesting statement: "boxes of unpacked memories"

Nice sharing - Thanx.

Jacquii.

Yes. I too cannot seem to function without the first cup of coffe in the morning.

It's like a wake up call. COFFEE precious COFFEE. of course I'm totally hooked on the delicious flavors of Hazelnut and vanilla cream. Yet my very favorite is chocolate mocha mint.

Thanks for sharing

Blessings

What would the world be like without a cup of coffee or a B-12 pill to get you doing?
Like is full of joy when you are awake to the day.
