Abstract

Fifteen thousand and some days
Time of its condition
Fifteen thousand ways
Sick by own admission
Seeing hearing notions appear
Only this mind sees and hears
Questioning forever
How can this be
What is the measure
For normal in me
A poet a writer
Dubious the light
A black of darker
Gripping more tight
These words mere reflection
Of places had travelled
All in projection
The abstract unraveled
A flooding of kind
Rapidly flowing
Images of mind…

awesome I was preparing myself to be dulled
because you put mystyle in your description

and I have had many experiences with that
none really good

whenever someone usually puts their style its their lack of style

however I was pleasantly surprised
on how smooth and cool your style actually is

Erik,

I was very hesistant to read your reply posted this same poem on two other forums and got blasted for lack of tangible hooks for the readers too personal for the readers and also was recommended to read up on "Modern Poetry writing" I dont consider myself a poet I write feelings as and when they present themselves and i understand alot of people wont like it or read it but those who do and connect ...well thats just pure magic and honest communication..
thank you for connecting and restoring some faith in honest expression

Hello Inspired-8!

Wow, I'm surprised that some people who have critiqued your work have given you such hard critiques of it and I'm sorry to hear this. I found your poem to be enjoyable and I especially enjoyed the unique style of it too. The images and the words of your poem kind of intwine together to give this great abstract image and I especially liked the ending of it:

All in projection
The abstract unraveled
A flooding of kind
Rapidly flowing
Images of mind…

This actually fit into my idea/thought process when I read a poem that is abstract. The abstract images/message of it kind of comes unraveling and flooding out and just kind of rapidly flow with the images into my mind. So, I could relate to this last bit of your poem and thought that it was very smart and a great way to end it. Anywho, thank you for sharing and keep on writing away!
