The house
lies
abandoned

Boards over
the windows
the yard choked with weeds

But it is
far
from empty

For inside it
lives
a presence

Felt by all
who
pass near

A voice
calls

Beckons

Wails
desperate
to be heard

A spirit
smashes spectral fists
against boarded windows

My love my love
a whisper moving through the stagnant air

Where is my love.
