Dream girl...
those luscious pumps you
never quite learned
to trump on orchids with; Never
tautly and succinctly
taught to ignore the dandelions with
precious child you. Dream
girl. You have your dreams.
And Spring awaits you in December?
The wildabeest lusts
after you girl... Dream!
Listen to the Christmas lights,
the bulbs speak to you
(solemn snow flake
that you are) Dream fairies
girl.
Stardust and magnolia blooms
for you. No dismay girl. Dream love!
Dream girl...
those luscious pumps
you never quite learned
to stomp on daffodil fir with...
They're me girl.
Dream freedom.
Dream love.
Then whisper them to me
in MY dream.
And smile honeysuckle, magnolia
blossom & violet. Smile
the scent of peach
and love Tennessee.
Love me
girl. I am your home.

I was listening to the "Dreamgirls" soundtrack with Beyonce and a whole cast of allstars and was so moved by Deena's (sp?) performance - this poem just sprang to mind... Funny - I've never seen any rendition of show - but the song "I am telling you..." vividly comes to mind... This is an abstract poem of me telling my love to DREAM and visit me in my dreams
