Listen To Me, Powers That Be

It’s time to listen, Powers That Be!
I’m sending a complaint to you.
Like a car with an expired warranty,
This body is falling apart.
Checking through my files tonight,
I discovered something long forgotten.
An extended warranty still in effect,
It’s time to repair or replace this model.
Simple repairs won’t fix what’s wrong,
A practical joker is hiding in your midst.
I hear him laughing down from on high,
As I take my meds each day.
It’s time to find out who it is,
We aren’t laughing much any more.
Stop this joker’s reign over my health,
It’s time to give me back my life.
If you can’t fix this body’s problems,
Find who has been enjoying my pain,
Replace this model with a better one please,
Or issue a refund check, Powers That Be.

Thanks tree, kim and Jeez! I look at my work and don't see what others do so I rely on this site to let me know what's wrong and what's simply brilliant (just kidding about the brilliant).
I appreciate you took the time to post a reply!
Gail
(tree, I am considering what we talked about and even started talking about it with my husband)
Biography: Jacquii Cooke is a 32 year old Black Poet from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As Webmistress of Poetry in Color Forum, she is devoted to the more abstract styles, especially those with a strong feminine voice that center around the topic of redemption and righting the wrongs of past transgressions.

Hmmmm - Being the "vintage depressing" Jacquii that I tend to be at times - I thought this was not particularly funny, but a demanding of respect and equality that each who have stepped on such a turmoiled earth deserve, before having become undeserving. (If that makes sense...)
As a person who has been trampled underfoot by uncaring, unemotional, dimwitted haters (Powers That Be) --- who will in fact take advantage of every & any thing that has the ability to be taken advantage of --- I feel this poem is a shout out saying Stop It!
Anyway - may be reading this kinda wrong - don't know - but such is the power of poetry, to entice the many different emotions available - whilst espousing some kind of knowledge. (I'm rambling - so let me cut it short )

There's power in these words GAIL!
I'd actually like to find the one who has ever caused my pain, so that I may Judge proper, effeciently and with expediency that such is deserving.
Holy cow! I'm glad we were able to clear up some confusion, lol. The emotion fairly leaps out at you from the screen! Fortunately, it has more to do with my health and talking to the people upstairs to find out which one of them has a little penchant for picking on people and stop it, lol.
hugs,
Gail
