Look Into My Eyes

Look into my eyes
Tell me what you see?
Do you see a broken heart?
Do you see endless dreams?
If you look really close
you will see a ghost living inside of me

Please don’t look to deep
I don’t want you do see my past
Just stare into my eyes
I really think this is love

There is a part of me that hides from
the rest of the world
It’s a place of lonely desires
A place no one should know
A place for a broken heart
All of this pain just makes me want to end it all

I’ve known you for a long time
I want you to be my lover
I want us to be best friends
I want love and devotion
Oh please heal my open wounds

Look into my eyes and clense
this dying soul
And watch this ghost fade away
As you set me free from this world

Hey Lee-Ann,

I read this, and said...hmmmm...read it again, and again...and I am almost speechless. As my Lil brother has said....this is deep! Just wow! I am so glad I dug deep, usually one finds treasures when they do. This is so emotional it has my head spinning, and so on point with so much I can relate to. Thank you for sharing this. Just wow.

Kim

Wow...I was truly taken back on the reread of this..I got chills the second time..We all have that place that is open to very few if any.

I want what you speak of here...I would also like to find someone I trusted enough to let see my soul...
Wonderful read

Yes, I have to agree with everyone else with the stated wow... and yes, wow, this is definitely quite a strong poem you have here with some powerful emotions to it too. One of the strongest elements of your poem is the ability to relate to it... and I think that anyone who has gone through a failed relationship, a broken heart, and going through that can relate to this poem.

One of my favorite lines is this right here:
There is a part of me that hides from
the rest of the world
It’s a place of lonely desires
A place no one should know
-

I can really relate to this part of your poem because I have that same kind of part of me that seems to hide from the rest of the world and doesn't like to be found out. That kind of darker place that I refuse to show to anyone else. So, this was my favorite part with your poem and I really enjoyed this.

I also thought that you ended your poem very strongly to with the last lines: And watch this ghost fade away
As you set me free from this world
. Anywho, I'm glad that I came across this poem of yours and thank you for sharing it!

Thanks for the comment alotmarc. Ohhh, chills! really? cool. Thanks, I think you are th first person to comment on feeling chills.

Thank you as well SarahNSH for the nice comment Glad to hear you can relate to it. Everytime someone tells me that, it helps me to remember my poem is about real life in most cases, real things that happen to a lot of people.

I appreciate all the comments everyone! Thank you
