Of Man and Wolf

Wolf
howling
echos down
the canyon walls
spirits dwell among
the ancient rock croppings
painted desert is not bare
life teems beneath every surface
buffalo roam freely in vast herds
deer,antelope,mustangs on open range
the eagle and the hawk fly above
the tribes lived as one with nature
following life in seasons
circle within circle
life in perfect form
until the day
they all met
the white
man

Dear Kit,
Brilliant Prose Diamond my friend. I felt this, and it awakened my ancestors, lol, being part Cherokee. I have a poem called Painted Desert also, that I never did post and this reminded of it. Now, I tell you that this should be submitted into contests Mike. I love it! It is memorable, and a great, great poem. My Great Grandmother Sequoia would LOVE this, as much as I do. Thank you and an excellent rating! I must have read this a thousand times, and I'll read a thousand times more. Thank you for sharing this with us, and thank you to Scott for this brilliant new poetic form.
OMG I want this poem!
Kim
