March of the slaying tongue
my thoughts have risen,
as high as heaven,
as low as the center of the earth,
with what we've given,
we're sure to ruin purity from birth,
When forces gather and love unravels,
you want to linger until they scatter,
lavish dreams of nectar sweet,
the entombed fortune leaves you incomplete,
Marches of the slaying tongue,
meant to breath our life on a pendulum,
spin a web of polite descent,
into live above a fiery pit,
Most live with or just regret,
swinging until we forfeit,
get out of the way of eevryone else's mindset,
before you end,
up as shallow as a dead-river-bed,
living screams and begging of what we all paid that day,
some won't feel the same,
while some make it forever their place,
As it swings your mind erupts,
what light brings is a change of mind,
whether we're shaped by the world,
no one agrees,
that the worlds been shaped by the worst in us,
and the voice of change bleeds,
for the millions of people that are too fragile
to be seen.

Wow ERIK - this is my kinda poetry - I love the attitude and the presence that your poem has - It's kinda if you're sending subliminals to a Grade A Hater lol -
At the same time = it testifies to having been born in a world filled with such horrid corruption, with less "gifts" than the "other man" ----> The strength in this poem (or the speaking narrator) is so very powerful - makes me just smile thinking of me actually speaking these words.

LOL - no comment about that stanza, other than to say how beautifully witty and blablabla blablablablabla

Nice words of advice. I like this poem very much - the rhythm of it is right on and the subject matter is handled with a wit that I'd like to call my own - Thanx for sharing it with us!

Good thing about me is that I don't have to make myself a fool in this horridly ugh world LOL ----> But I am fond of saying "a fool at 40 is a fool indeed" -- I'm 31

Erik,
This is a very powerful poem with a definite message. Again, your range of the craft has evolved to an exceptional level. I hope to write like this one day. I really love this also. It does read as if it should be read out loud, and be heard. LOVED IT!!!! Great write Erik!!
