Neo Ain't Got Nothin' On Me
this thread has 5 replies and has been viewed 301 times
Ps ych ede lic rainstorms,
neon stop signs,
and 3-D side walks,
dance a jig across the
peach colored, cracked,
scrambled eggs soft surface
of my mega computer.
Mainframe if you will…
Tripped out disco ball
With laser flashes
Splashing in R o y G. B i v
On the new t-shirt white
Surfaces of uncharted territory
In the afro-dome.
Suddenly jolted
By a sonic bolt of realization
Body slammed with comprehension
Left gasping for a moment…
A moment to collect
Then in an instant begging for more.
Neo ain’t bad like me.
I take it all in
Filling every orifice
With this, that, and the other.
All new, all fresh.
Beautifully blinding,
Brilliantly muting,
Magnificent.
Starfish pink,
Lobster red,
Shark gray,
& orca white on black.
Wolverine wild,
Jean Gray unstoppable,
Cyclops hot,
& Professor Xavier discerning.
Portion by portion
The images recede.
Clarity softly illuminates
The once fog like canopy
Of my existence.
Releasing my tired mind
From the prison of hues,
Calming my mentality,
Resuscitating my sanity.

Hey SHAWNIE - I knew I was gonna enjoy this poem as soon as I saw the title. Girl you are too funny @ times... I liked this poem, but I'm a little lost as to what the entire meaning of it is...
I'd surely like to know you're inspiration for scribing such a poem - You'll have to break it down for us, so that we may understand exactly what you're endeaving to accomplish with this one...
I do however love the "symphony of words" - if you will. You've displayed such a dexterity with language, it just seems easy.

Interesting stanza the 1st... Not sure what it means though
I thank you for sharing this poem though & I am certainly looking forward to the breakdown

Hi Shawnie,
I loved the rhythmic tempo, and the use of words, it was upbeat, abstract at times, and a pleasure to read. You are a wonderful writer from the pieces that I have read so far. I could tell you really had fun with this. The different color letters was a brillaint idea. ROY G. BIV, was my favorite. I am a Science teacher, and that is how we teach students to remember the colors of the rainbow. I LOVE IT!!
Very lyrical. The words fit together and this is another poem that is fun to read out loud. Perhaps it is not meant to be understood and simply "felt", but this popem could very well have a jazz band running behind it.
For clarification I broke this piece down. I hope it makes sense.

[In this stanza the rainstorms, stop signs, & side
walks equal insanity or confusion. The peach colored,
cracked scrambled eggs soft surface of my mega
computer is my brain.]

[The disco ball and laser flashes are still talking
about all the disarray going on in my mind. Roy G.
Biv is the colors of the rainbow. That's how they
taught us to remember the order of the colors. The
new t-shirt white surfaces are just parts of my brain
(afro-dome) that I haven't tapped into yet.]

[All of a sudden something catches my interest, begins
to enlighten me and clear some of the confusion. It
is all coming so fast that I have to take a moment to
process, then I am asking for more of this thing]

[These just speak of how out of all the confusion
there is some clarity that arises. Lifting the fog of
confusion from my mind. Then bringing me peace.]

Hey SHAWNIE - beautifully abstract piece
Makes much more sense now & actually reminds me of some of my own writing...
I like the mind of this piece - it's like the piece has a mind of it's own - It's like the piece was really telling you what to write...
