Tag Poem #1 - Jazz Singer Girl
Jazz Singer Girl Collaboration by Poets (in order - alternating stanzas): MsJacquiiC and PaintedDiary
She's diversity personified, playing her piano keyboard
Tenacity and strength in her rainbowed aura of colours
That jazz she sings wells from within and forth it pours
Like two paintings of Niagara on one wall: Art museum
Billowing a smoky soliloquy, Lady Day style
Notes as fine as a red sable brush
Stroking a Harlem canvas; A still life of Strange Fruit
From her instrument echoes the heart of Jazz
One wish residing in her soul, an epiphany of sorts:
To play that Ellington caravan the way it is
meant to be played; To master the keys (if you will)
and open the door to a miasma of song.
A jazz era love affair; pure elegance
The way she enchants the keys would give one pause
Playin' a courtship of ivory swans and onyx doves
Butter cream smooth; she is a sophisticated lady
So sophisticated Da Vinci couldn't capture her lines,
Her hipsway on piano bench a Mona-Lisa-masterpiece.
More scrumptious than Cezanne's peaches, this girl is
Bad. Her rhythm is freedom-flight personified.
Throwin' down scat like Grandmas' peach marmalade
Ancient oceans ripple with her sway; Harlem's Mona Lisa
Victorious; A ticklin' ivory wish; she brought Ellington back awhile
She is bad, her passion is jazz; phenomenally does she sang.

Oooooo! There's so very much I absolutely LOVE about this collabo! But I will just quickly comment on a duet of lines by KIM:
Quote:
Stroking a Harlem canvas; A still life of Strange Fruit
From her instrument echoes the heart of Jazz
As soon as I read those lines - I knew this poem would be simply brilliant - Those two lines really epitomize what the poem is about - And what I'd initially hoped the poem would BE.
Love the two styles meshing - just so intertwined!
There's someone in tune with her piano, I do get visuals.....Great write, both of ya....
Fave line: "More scrumptious than Cezanne's peaches, this girl is bad....." I luv it!!!!
Scrumptious is another one of them there words that slay me........
You two should get together more often, thanx for the treat...

You two out did yourselves. I liked this very much.
Jazz, Ivory, Onyx, Love and romance and wrapped up in one.
I especially liked this part best.
A jazz era love affair; pure elegance
The way she enchants the keys would give one pause
Playin' a courtship of ivory swans and onyx doves
Butter cream smooth; she is a sophisticated lady

Rose garden
