MiscellaneousHave a poetic style of your own? Have poems that defies all conventional categories? Share them here please. (i.e. dark & bitter, political, revolutionary, abstract, etcetera...) A phrase from my Boot Camp Commander~He meant it as a way of life~Works for me!~Very hard to do~

Dear Kit,
I read this several times and each time I got more and more. I also saw myself in this poem. This is a deep poem, you went to your poetic abyss and back to share with us. There are many life lessons and emotions intricately weaved into your words. Thank you for sharing this and keep looking toward the sky.
I tried to reach the sun
but I took the high road
and fell far short
in agony and pain
- sometimes it's like that
disgusted, I flew away
to escape this evil world
I took the short cuts
and got the bad cuts
- this is very true most of the times
But I remembered to touch the sky
and I chose life
But I kept flying
and messing up that life
- determined, failure is a part of success
and, hey, I'm still flying
I'll be forever airborne
space cadet
I'm in a different ship now
but it seems I'm always in
the same ole boat
- you're always in the same ole boat,
it's only how you make the bpat to a different ship
I tried to reach the sun
Touch the sky, damn it!
Touch the sky
- GoGoGo ! you can do it, believe in yourself...
Let me tell you all
sitting here in my window sill
it all comes clear
life is a tragedy
- that's what Buddhism believe...
we all must play
but I ask you
here and now
When do we close it down?
I tried to reach the sun
forgot to touch the sky
I took the high road
but I never leaned out the window
Loved your breakdown of one of my favorite poems...sorry that I missed this when you entered it, but this gives me a chance to say thanks and once again chuckle at Publish America's choice to change the title of my book...I don't believe I chuckled much the day they asked me to do it.
