Welcome to Palettes of Flavour
The Community has spoken AND by popular consensus I introduce you to Palettes Of Flavour, the new recipe exchange where we can add our favorite recipes with a piece of original writing. The recent Community vote tally is as follows:
26 Votes --- AWESOME Idea
20 Votes --- And yes - I would actually participate.
2 Votes ---- HORRIBLE Idea
5 Votes ---- And no - I don't think I can add anything here.
The Official Description For Palettes Of Flavour:
Within each of us is the urge to satiate our palates. Represented here is the best in sublime eats - Feel free to share your favorite recipes. BON APPÉTIT!
Yes - I do realize this NEW sub-forum is in the Poetry of the Visual section - But hasn't food (at least very recently) become even more so about the presentation of the course? I know for me, food can be very visual stimulating and quite beautiful actually when prepared with tender loving care. So...... What is allowed in this new sub-forum?
"Official" Guidelines For Palettes Of Flavour:
In this section you will be allowed to post your favorite recipes for all types of courses, drinks, deserts, etc...
The stipulation is you either post a poem, story, or some piece of writing with the recipe. Pictures of the prepared meal will go lovely within this section as well. You know how we ALL love to look at food, I mean McDonald's spends millions and millions of dollars just to show the "perfect" burger for a 30 second commercial slot in which the burger is featured for a maximum of 10 seconds.... So yes - Photographs are definitely welcome whenever you post a recipe and literature combo.
A Few Topic Ideas:
Though truly the Artiste (and we are definitely a talented Group) will most likely come up with
distinctly unique ideas for what and how to post in this section, the original poll thread has several really good suggestions submitted by your fellow JPiCans. Below is just a few of those suggestions:
- Submit your recipe with an epulaeryu, a poetic form specifically about delicious foods.
- Turn the recipe into a poem (possibly a list poem, haiku, abcedarian, etc...)
- Write about the culture from which your recipe comes (either poetic form, story and/or essay)
- Reminisce via scribing about what you ate the night before you wrote your best?
- Ask/answer poignant questions within your writing like "Do certain foods stimulate poetic energy?"
Those are just a few ideas - But you get the point... So - Bon Appétit - Enjoy AND Happy posting!
