Icon1 Grandma's Famous Sweet Potatoe Pie (It Always Smelled Like Cinnamon)

Okay I see I'm going to be the first one with a yummy recipie. Since Thansksgiving is upon us I will start with my Grandma's famous "Sweet Potato Pie"

Here's a poem to start the recipie off!

"It Always Smelled Like Cinnamon"

It always
Smelled like cinnamon
A welcomed warm surprise,

It always
Smelled of nutmeg
When grandma made her pies.

Sweet sugared buns
With frosted crumbs
Floured prints upon her blouse,

It always
Smelled like cinnamon
When we'd visit grandma's house.

Autumn days
Brought Autumn nights
Light harvest winds would whisp,

And right behind
Her oven door
The apple pies would crisp.

Pumpkin patch
In frosted dew
Bring pleasure to the eyes,

Yet it always
Smelled like cinnamon
When grandma made her pies.

And now drum roll please..........

" Sweet Potato Pie"

2 eggs slightly beaten (not too much of course)
1 large can of yummy Yams (added to the course)
3/4 Cup of sugar (just enough to taste)
1/2 Teaspoon of salt ( too much would be a waste.)
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon (Like grandma in her pies.)
1/2 Teaspoon Ginger ( That too is very wise.)
1/4 Teaspoon of Cloves ( It takes no magic tricks.)
1-2/3 Cups of light cream or milk. ( added to the mix.)

Mix all ingredients together in the order they are given.
Pour into a pie shell. Now that's what I call liven.
Bake in preheated oven at 425 for 15 minutes, Then,
Reduce the temp. to 350 and continue baking again.
When 45 minutes have pasted, and time is ticking by,
You'll know it's done when a fork is clean, when stuck into the pie.

Take your prize out from the oven. and let it cool.
garnish with whipped cream and eat!
Take a bite it tastes like Pumpkin. Wow what a suprising treat!

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to read some other dishes. I'd love to prepare what others' are cooking.
