A man by the name of Sid Clark
Just loved to swim after dark.
In spite a friends warning
To swim in the morning
He was eaten by one hungry shark.

There was an old man with no will
'e tried out the small purple pill
It had mended his ways
As it lasted for days
And his wife wouldn’t get off the hill.

A limerick

A limerick would be such a hit
But I can’t write a limerick
I try and try ...“never say die”
And even baked an apple pie!
Come by my house and have a lick
But I can’t write a limerick!

Funny, sarcastic, limerick
Why can’t my pen just do the trick?
By now it should be used to it
But I can’t write a limerick!

I dance until I sweat and hurt
Dancing for me makes life so worth
The work and pain, the bites of ticks
But I can’t write a limerick!

I twist and turn and dream of words
Coming to me in droves and herds
I gather them in red blankits
But I can’t write a limerick!

I’ll kiss and tell, make you feel small
Tell people you are three feet tall
Take me out tonight to catch a flick
Cause I can't write a limerick!

© nomadic rhymer

(this is not proper limerick format, but it felt right...for now...I may try again)

There once was a bee with a flea
Who went out to have some rich tea
Instead he did fall
While making a call
And then his dear flea had to flee!

There once was a good boy named Mitch
Who was in a real kind of ditch
Then he thought of a plan
To make him a man
And now this good Mitch is real rich!

Olive Ewe

He gave her a sheep a painted green,
The strangest thing she'd ever seen.
It made her heart shift
To recieve such a gift.
But what could his thoughtfulness mean?

The grin on his face wildly grew
Just to see her face it was true.
On her special day
She heard him to say
Remember my dear "Olive You."

]St. Pat and the Leprechaun

The serpent that tempted Eve,
and it's kin were made to leave,
when St. Patrick said,
"Let sin be dead,
Begorra, in faith, I believe!"

Those little wee folk, the Leprechaun,
were so happy when the snakes were gone,
they toasted St. Pat,
and gave him a vat
of fine Irish whiskey to sip on!

Their gratitude lives on today.
They share their luck the shamrock way,
and they can be seen
in their emerald green,
but only on St. Patrick's Day!
