Weightless In The Wind

Floating skyward without care,
Waving weightless in the wind,
Breathless wonders fill the air.

Journey onward who knows where,
Slowly, shyly, touch and blend,
Floating skyward without care.

Rain reveals dirt spores with flare,
Leaping dust flies in the wind,
Breathless wonders fill the air.

Fresh, the scents of beauty rare,
Wakes the senses like a trend,
Floating skyward without care.

Nature's way for her to share.
Warming touches like a friend,
Breathless wonders fill the air.

Smallest specks of dust so fair,
Waving weightless in the wind.
Floating skyward without care,
Breathless wonders fill the air.

Upon a Battlefield of Slate

upon a battlefield of slate
opposing forces at the ready stand
pushing pieces towards checkmate...

32 figures all await
64 squares layout the land
upon a battlefield of slate...

all moving with a different gait
positions setting up as planned
pushing pieces towards checkmate...

set the trap, bishop takes the bait
the game is well in hand
upon a battlefield of slate...

knight takes the queen out on a date
surrender is now the demand
pushing pieces towards checkmate...

the next move seals the fate
a victory so grand
upon a battlefield of slate
pushing pieces towards checkmate...

Painting Thoughts in Many Hues

painting thoughts in many hues,
my pen, the brush that's dipped,
when visited by the muse...

words of feelings i do choose,
that her inspiration shipped,
painting thoughts in many hues...

lines used to explain my views,
into shape are whipped,
when visited by the muse...

the cup she offers i can't refuse,
of her sweet wine from which i sipped,
painting thoughts in many hues...

during an afternoon snooze,
while in a daydream tripped,
when visited by the muse...

her presence hope to never lose,
in her favor never slipped,
painting thoughts in many hues,
when visited by the muse...

I Search Inside My Soul

i search inside my soul to find
the words for which i write
free flowing feelings from my mind...

lost in the wilderness so blind
trying to escape the dark of night
i search inside my soul to find...

the path it slowly did unwind
the muse appeared to ease my fright
free flowing feelings from my mind...

a gentle touch came from behind
to guide my way toward the light
i search inside my soul to find...

as she whispered soft and kind
a farewell finally to my fight
free flowing feelings from my mind...

at the muse's table how i dined
as lines of prose came into sight
i search inside my soul to find
free flowing feelings from my mind...

He Had A Name

He sang with a voice that was true
Wrote with a pen so fine
And never left us feeling blue

He sang songs about me and you
Roy, Jim, and bottled time
He sang with a voice that was true

You don't spit if you have a clue
"Bad" always top of line
And never left us feeling blue

All fans have favs, how about you?
"Recently", "Age" are mine
He sang with a voice that was true

And though his days as star were few
His smile was bright sunshine
And never left us feeling blue

On dark and stormy night he flew
To sing for just one dime
He sang with a voice that was true
and never left us feeling blue

Father II - Villanelle

Father I can be read HERE

Father II

Father I ask, "Should such a passion be rumored as a sin?"
"Should I emancipate my habit only from dusk till dark?"
angry eyes smile from Sisters' jealous half grin

To say your wife must not ever know where you've been
when you've enthralled and tasted my most decadent parts
Father I ask, "Should such a passion be rumored as a sin?"

From confession booth to California King rationings
to stolen kisses in the park, to mattresses shaped like hearts
angry eyes smile from Sisters' jealous half grin

"How could your wife not smell the carnal lust on your skin?"
an encore we just finished, that she wants to start
Father I ask, "Should such a passion be rumored as a sin?"

"How much longer can we pretend to be (kissing kin)?"
"Do we not make symphonies reminiscent of the finest Mozart?"
angry eyes smile from Sisters' jealous half grin

Father, for I have sinned, and will conceal this love within
the scent of God should be enough to keep us apart
Father I ask, "Should such a passion be rumored as a sin?"
angry eyes smile from Sisters' jealous half grin
