Awake to the Sun
Awake to the sun
Its glorious rays shining
Morning has arrived

Grass still wet with dew
As the leaves of the trees weep
Tears of moisture fall

A slug crawling slowly
Across the gritty pavement
Leaves a slimy trail

“Coo Coo” of a dove
From its perch on the rooftop
Calls out to his mate

Butterfly in flight
Soft wings of orange and black
Searching for nectar

Awake to the sun
Don’t stay in bed until noon
Look what you might miss

Oceans
ancient the waters
Mother Gaia's infinite
cradle of life

tides ebb and flow
aided by forces unseen
daily highs and lows

oceans surrounding
land held captive to its whims
what's taken comes back

underwater life
beyond imagination
from time's beginning
~~~
seagulls fly, ships sail
walrus and seal sun on rocks
sharks bite, dolphins play

briny is the air
luminescent the night glow
fog comes creeping in

in all seven seas

broken hearted men

A new land conquered

This collection of Haiku are from my dear friend and member TrueBlue. He wrote these some time ago, and I placed a copy here for all to enjoy his {unique and non-traditional} Haiku as well. It does go a bit over the limit with a total of 28 lines.


-"World War Three"
Tales of World War III
Constitutes the spectacle
Signed with thier honor

-"Two Face"
Healing hands destroy
This siamese beast is man
Inseparably

-"Intolerance"
Everlasting man
Strength to be inflexible
A minimalist

-"Torment"
In parrallel worlds
Spirit and soul entangled
Like Adam before

-"Science of Transcience"
Elsewhere providence
All horizons are alike
In a foreign land

Beautiful stanger
Inspiring me with desire

Unwanted Guests
Twisted thoughts abound
As insanity sets in
Tearing at my mind

What used to house peace
Tranquility the tenants
Now out on the street

The vacancy filled
Here lives torture and torment
Unwanted renters

Property destroyed
Holes punched through my memories
The damage is done

Rooms are left empty
Now uninhabitable
Padded walls my home
