Well this might actually pan out to be a very interesting thread actually - At anyrate - I've a few poets whose works have always stood out to me as MAGNIFIQUE: Langston Hughes definitely - I can even remember some of his writings - and I'm not the type of Poet who sits around remember famous lines of poetry LOL --- I'm to lazy to remember would be my guess
Anyway - I'm a fan of Emily Dickinsons work as well - She's so perfectly depressing... But I selected Maya Angelou - as her writings (including her autobiographies) have made such a HUGE impression on me - to know that someone can persevere through such turmoil...
So - that's my 1st post in this thread - So what about YAWL - Who's your favorite AND try to pick only 2
It's hardly a secret, lol. Frost and Dickenson are my favorites. I haven't read Maya, but I have read Langston and I am a BIG fan Of Giovanni as well. Keats and Yeats and Whitman and Poe and cummings and Thomas and Elliot and WCWilliams. I might be able to come up with a line or two here and there, but quoting the Raven from memory is for the birds.
