Hi Stardust, and Welcome!
I was confused too, when I first started here, but now it's really easy!
First - decide what kind of thing you have written that you want to post. Is it an essay or a poem? If a poem, what kind? Is it romantic, traditional, free-style or what?
Once you have decided, click on the word "Forums", at the top of the page and scroll down. You will see a section called Poetic Colours. Under that you will see the different types of poetry. If you don't know what to call your type of poem, click on the word "Miscellaneous".
This will take you to a list of all the Miscellaneous types of poetry that people here have posted. Click on the button that says "New Thread", and a box will open up in which you can type in your poem.

As for the other areas - If you want to check your private messages (PMs) from other members, click on the words "UserCP" at the top of the page. - If you want to view a member's profile, click on the word "Members". This takes you to a listing of all the members of this site, in alphabetical order. Click on the member's username to see the profile or click on the word "Find" to see what they have posted.

If you like games - there are forum games posted under: click on Forums - scroll down to The Blushing Lounge section, look under General Chat then click on Forum Games. This will bring up a list of the different types of games that members have posted. Click on the title of one you want to try or just read about. If you want to try it, make sure that you are at the last page before you post your "quick reply". The word association game (for example) has 6 pages of replies. If you post at the bottom of page 3, you will be splitting the thread.

For games, you can also click on JPicArcade - Great Place! It has a LOT of different games and high scores for you to match or beat! Note though - If someone beats your score, you will get a notice telling you who it was who beat you. This notice is computer-generated and does NOT come from the person who beat you!

So really, Just click around on everything and see what it does! Most of all - just have fun here! If you happen to see me in the shoutbox, pop in and shout Hi!

Hope this helped!

Tree. (yes that IS my real name!)

1st - Thank you MS TREE for explaining to our friend STARDUST the navigation of JPiC - much appreciation
----
----

Hi STARDUST - I have actually responded to you Private Messages - also known as PMs....

The navigation around this board is not difficult at all actually, one of the reasons I chose to begin a writers' forum with vBulletin is because of the fabulous custom-made modifications...

ALSO - ALL CAPS IS KNOWN AS YELLING - IT IS GENERALLY BAD FORM TO USE ALL CAPS WHEN SPEAKING TO FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS! YOU WILL NOTICE THAT I LOVE TO USE ALL CAPS WHEN SAYING BOARD MEMBERS' NAME - BASICALLY AS A SHOW OF MSJACQUIIC'S RESPECT... THAT ASIDE YOU MAY TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING:

You'll notice at the top of every page is the MAIN NAVIGATION which includes:

Click To Enlarge or View Image In Its Original Size.

leads to the different forums available for all JPiC Members, with the exception of the Staff Lounge...

Click To Enlarge or View Image In Its Original Size.

offers various links to apply for a JPiC Moderator position and other board options like changing your avatar pic, etcetera...

Click To Enlarge or View Image In Its Original Size.
will show the Members of JPiC Forum...

Click To Enlarge or View Image In Its Original Size.
leads to the JPiC Member Map in case you want to plant your plot and let other members know where you hail from....

Click To Enlarge or View Image In Its Original Size.
allows you to other board settings

Click To Enlarge or View Image In Its Original Size.
Search the board with Google and each click allows JPiC $0.10 for your searching capacity...

Click To Enlarge or View Image In Its Original Size.
Will take you to the JPiC Donation Page - by all means please donate to help keep JPiC online and free for all Members...

So anyway - those are the main navigation buttons that anyone who ever logs on to JPiC will see, with the exception of the REGISTER button of course, which is prominently shown to those who have not registered with our Community...

The other navigation for the forum is located where you'll see

Click To Enlarge or View Image In Its Original Size.

it's not difficult at all - hope this helps!

Jacquii.
