Biography: Jacquii Cooke is a 32 year old Black Poet from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As Webmistress of Poetry in Color Forum, she is devoted to the more abstract styles, especially those with a strong feminine voice that center around the topic of redemption and righting the wrongs of past transgressions.

    $500/$300/$100 prize awards.

  • Judge: Lance Larsen,
    2007 NEA Literature Fellow,
    and author of Erasable Walls and In All Their Animal Brilliance .

  • Rules: All winners/finalists will be published in SLAB . All poems considered for publication. All manuscripts are submitted to the readers and judge anonymously. Current and former students of the judge are ineligible to enter. Postmark deadline is November 19, 2007.

  • Submit: Submit up to three unpublished poems with $10.00 reading fee (includes a two-year subscription). Name, address, title(s) on separate cover letter. SASE for return.
