They don't listen anymore

Hi this is me, I'm 26, live in a beautiful semi detached house with my husband, my gorgeous little boy and 2 black labradors. A perfect family,

Well not quite.....

See my husband's drinking a lot these days, he lost his job, he hardly ever showers or eats, just drinks, morning till night.
I've told him he needs to stop, needs to sort himself out, told him he's got a son who needs him, told him he could get another job but he doesn't listen to me now, none of them do, not after what happened.

I tried telling my little boy that he'd got odd socks on this morning, he just brushed right past me to my neighbour
waiting to take him to school.
Of course, I wish odd socks were his only problem. He's so different now, it breaks my heart to see this once happy, bubbly, bright child sitting in a corner, refusing to talk to other children, not responding to teachers. Just sits and stares, mute and alone.

The worst thing is that I did all this. I'm the reason my husband drinks, I'm the reason he lost his job, I'm the reason my little boy sits in the corner and cries.

Worst of all I didn't even like that phone much, was too bulky, I wanted a slimline one that wouldn't look odd in my jeans pocket and I only had a tenner in my purse. Now everyday I ask myself the same questions...

Why didn't I give him what he wanted? Why did i feel the need to fight? Would my attacker really have spared my life for a dodgy phone and a tenner?

Would I have made a better mum and a wife if I was real instead of a ghost?

By Sebby (my 1st attempt since school lol)
I edited the ending of this story to make it clearer with the help of PaintedDiary, ty -x-

WHOA! If this is your 1st attempt @ shortstory - I look forward to the 2nd Beautiful piece of writing MS VS - I enjoyed reading this one. The twist at the end was a unique one, as I'm sure each of us can relate to just HAVING to have that certain something right away LOL - That is to say "impulsive" buying spree LOL

Just a tenner huh?

Anyway - I liked this write - Highly amusing and very readable.
Keep doing the writing thing VS - It really suits ya!
Thanx for sharing

Jacquii.
