On The Eve Of Life (2 minute consummation)

This is one of my earliest poems. It is a little dark and a lot abstract to be a spiritual poem of sorts - but for some reason it speaks to me... So I want to share it. Comments/critique appreciated, though I doubt I'll ever edit this one LOL - I'm old and stuck in my ways --- Anyway - hope you like it!

Jacquii.

On The Eve Of Life
(2 minute consummation)

She thrust forth and seized the
stick from which springs life
and proceeded to manually maneuver it
so that
microcosms of potential
streamed from its’ portal,
erupting smoothe.

Lullabies of complacency
simultaneously flowed from the soul
as the tumultuous release of
tension subsided,

thus birthing what is now
known as humanity…

And its’ damnation.

Hey MsJacquii!

I really do love coming across your work because you have a unique style and way of writing poetry that I haven't encountered before, plus, your abstract poetry just gets me thinking and has beautiful imagery with it that I just enjoy overall. This poem, especially the ending, reminded me of the act of giving or receiving pleasure with the release of tension and how the end refers to damnation that kind of fit into this idea for me.

I really liked the darkness of it and the abstractness of this poem too. And, I gotta say, I think that my favorite is the last stanza which reminds me of pleasure and that kind of amazing release that you get from it. Anywho, thank you for sharing this and keep on writing away!

Yep - Lots of dark sensuality in this one - Just wanted to convey that although the end result was a bit of damnation - there sure as hell was one tremendously great bit of passion that set it off LOL - And I love writing about the strength of woman. And this piece so reminds me of my most favorite Sojourner Truth quote - You may have seen it a few times already:

Quote:
If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these together ought to be able to turn it back and get it right side up again.
So 3 cheers for getting it right side up again

Thanx for commenting SARAH - I'm glad you like my abstract!

Jacquii.
