The Divine Love of the Black Man and Woman

Man:
Woman, you ignite me.
You set my spirit ablaze
Watch as I light the world with your gift that’ll burn for endless days

This flame is of a smokeless flicker dancing on multi-dimensional planes
Dancing through times and eons and ages and centuries and millennia
As you and I move through time, we displace cosmic winds
That rotates solar systems and galaxies and universes
As if they were nothing but summer breezes passing through our open hands
Who is greater than the Black Woman and Man?

You are such that it would take an eternity to define your beauty alone
So much time that man will have died and his body decayed to bone
You are that beautiful, yea, even more; you are exquisitely, perfect

As the season of man closes upon him
We watch from a distant Diaspora, his last chapter
And as he approaches his apocalyptic end
We know that we will remain to see yet another book in time begin
It is we who will write wisdom for them
While they aspire to transgress again
Who is greater than the Black Woman and Man?

We shall always remain; our energy force indestructible
Unsusceptible to time and element
We are the circle that encompasses all things
We circumambulate the finite imagination of men
And give to them those fleeting instruments of their own demise
It is we who hear their false supplication to the skies
Who is greater than the Black Woman and Man?

Woman:
Man, you create me.
You mold me into a form of being that cannot be contained
You are my source, my stone, my water, I cannot abstain.
I will travel across all of time in search of you
And until I find you, I will abstain…
Because none is as worthy as you…
There is no King, but the Black Man

We transcend all love and worldly adoration
On this plane, we are one in spirit
You breathe; and I exhale
You look; and I see
You listen; and I hear
You touch; and I feel
You eat; and I taste
You create me, therefore I am…
Who is greater than this, my Black Man?

Speak into existence a universe
And bear witness as I give birth to moons and suns
Lighting the skies with stars
That your seed might travel the righteous course
Call them to you and they shall respond
Who is greater than this Divine Black Force?

Biography: Jacquii Cooke is a 32 year old Black Poet from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As Webmistress of Poetry in Color Forum, she is devoted to the more abstract styles, especially those with a strong feminine voice that center around the topic of redemption and righting the wrongs of past transgressions.

TBP --- This poem reads well, like a biblical passage of sorts... Biblical, as the voice seems at once prophetic and apocryphal... The tone has sensual newage philosophical undertones - but an antique feel to it, especially

Quote:

Again - sounds like the Original The Last Poets - Like an unknown knowledge you espouse - quite puzzling actually to see such strong-voiced words on paper...

This passage is really puzzling... Makes me ask the question "What happens to the rest of us if you write the wisdom of ages?" Not that that would be an entirely bad thing - but again - this poem of Divine Love is mystical in its essense. A spoken word mystery of sorts.

All-in-all a very intriguing poem. Thoroughly enjoyable read.
I wonder though - where the inspiration from your words comes from.
Is this a spiritual poem as well? If yes - what is your spiritual affiliation?

At anyrate - Great share - Thanx for the read

Jacquii.

Well, I got halfway through this at 1:00AM and decided to retreat and attack with more gusto this morning....not "attack" in it's original intentioned meaning, of course, but it was so intriguing that I wanted to be fresh when attempting to decipher it.

Dancing through times and eons and ages and centuries and millennia
As you and I move through time, we displace cosmic winds

We shall always remain; our energy force indestructible
Unsusceptible to time and element
We are the circle that encompasses all things

This paints such a clear picture of larger than life "gods" if you will, moving through the cosmic realm at will, as if through an ocean miles deep, displacing all in their path and forging new ones from the displacement itself. All powerful forces, two halves of a whole...coming together to decide the destiny of mankind...

Well to say the least, it's a setting that moves me, who has always been fascinated with Greek mythology - these two lines below personify the very arrogance of the "gods" who were purported to be as selfish as toddlers and had temper tantrums to go with it...Zeus, or Odin (Norse ruler of gods) etc, etc....take your pick...I can see these words pouring out of their mouths:

And give to them those fleeting instruments of their own demise
It is we who hear their false supplication to the skies

...and to the question of who is greater - I say the original Creator...as outlined by your very words below, who DID...

Speak into existence a universe
And bear witness as I give birth to moons and suns
Lighting the skies with stars

Anyway...that's just what I took away from this very grand panorama of poetry...absolutely brilliant write!!

This is a powerful and stunning poem.
I would have to agree that it does read
kinda biblical. You have a strong voice here
and I enjoyed even though I am not black.
Great write!
