Voices ringing in my head
Drowning me in thoughts...
Longings that are not my own
Pain and love they've brought

Stories of their lives thrown down
Lost in conflict war and strife......
Gods above protect me now
I'm drowning in their lives...

Here a man and there a girl
There a babe not one...
Blood and bones across my throne
Within my mind they've won...

What do they want
These voices loud?
What do they need from me?
Why won't they leave me now in peace?
Why won't they leave me as me?

They call for justice
They call for hope.
They call but are unanswered...
And so here I lie
And see them die...
Memories not mine are cancer.

I take up the role
I stand up tall...
And grimacing I move forward...
I once was blind
But now I see...
To Justice I move toward.

Sound off the call
And read the names
I watch their faces now...
And silence now has come at last...
Alone...
At last silence allowed.

back, Sealiah...and thanks for another wonderful creation of yours...flawless rhythm and beat...this seems to be the cry of an empath or someone with similar abilities (can ghosts still hear us?) where the world's problems keep crowding in, introducing all the pain and suffering...offering a life of no peace....very nice write, girl!!

It sure is a great day to open JPiC and see you have written. I am in love with your work and have been since you joined. Another piece that deems no less perfect than your other masterpieces. This poems sounds exactly like what happens to me on days. I'm not sure what brings it on, but it is very annoying. It feels like my soul is stolen. I get so drained of energy at times - just need to sleep. It has it's ups and downs, laughter and tears. Then it seems to taper off for awhile,
maybe it's food alergies - LOL

ahh .. it is hard carrying that mantle .... making sure those gone are remembered. I know this too well. I too carry ...... cannot call it a burden nor a blessing... but it is my journey to follow and tell. You Do it well Sealiah. Beautifully.
