Hers are dreams, fractured
and broken but
never forgotten,
where in her heart
pools a lake of tears,
still and awaiting
another drop
of her longing
unfulfilled.
His are regrets, layered
atop false pride
he's chosen,
whitewashed forever
without redemption,
cold and muted
are pained
apologies
unspoken.
Theirs is a life, fragile
and needfully
bound together,
healing each wound
as they so find them,
revealing the need
as time opens
each image
of their love.

Hi Benny!
I think this is the best definition of a perfect marriage that I have ever read! I really like your title. We all always bring past hurts to a new relationship but with time, and the understanding that can only come with time, those hurts are healed. Wish I had read this before I posted my rant called "I Married an Idiot"! LOL! Ah well, another storm weathered!
LOL...I have to admit...most of us men act like idiots at times...no doubt about that...and I hope by now I have outgrown most of that. Thanks for the reply to my post and glad you enjoyed the work.
