I Am Woman

I am a woman
not just a wife
I am a mother
not just a person.

I am a woman
not a Ho
I am a lady
not a bitch

I like being bad
but I am not criminal
and when I am bad
I‘m very good.

In the bed we are equals
in all our desires
but do not call me
a female dog in heat.

This would cool me
down swifter
than it would take you
to serve your own interests.

I love sex too
but that does not make me a slut,
a ho, a nympho, a succubus
or a cocktease.

If you want me then
treat me like a lady in public
but always remember too
that, at all times, I am a woman.

As Webmistress of Poetry in Color Forum, she is devoted to the more abstract styles, especially those with a strong feminine voice that center around the topic of redemption and righting the wrongs of past transgressions.

I always love pieces that are positively self-affirming for the Female and this poem is right on point! Of course me being the freek that I am (always a woman though ) had to highlight the "sex" stanza - I love how you continued the phrase to the very end of that stanza - Nice use of the word "succubus" LOL --- That is a perfectly poetic word if ever there is such a thing LOL

Anyway - very nice write! Enjoyed it very much!
