For My Fellow Young

What we were was little, in comparison to big,
A mere confession of love
Long empty words spoken into stillness
We were the figment of an unchallenged imaginations
we were nonexistent

It takes little explanation to know our wavering minds
We were two worn chords in the wind
unsettled by the slightest breeze
but when the wind was fierce , a constant force it was,
We would strain and eventually sever

Yet because we were kids
we could envision beauty at its peak
and we were handy in our tools,
often creating matter from empty space and calling it art
so from the still air we forged a bond
and we called it magic

Yet reality is a terrible force
and it destroys the shelter of ignorance
and our bitterness marked the end of one era which produced another
as we bid adieu to innocence and accepted our lack of it
Yet this mountain of beauty suddenly feels rather tall
I can no longer envision its peak
let alone picture us at the top

All in all, I ought to blame,
nothing less than my own inexperienced hands
For I was a child, pounding the clay,
(who knew you were supposed to mold it?)
trying to make matter from space
attempting to make something from nothing

Joy, I could swear that this was written by someone older, looking back at the folly of youth! My goodness, you were obviously born wise! LOL! I love it...

Come to think of it...I have a 16 year old (daughter of a friend) that needs to read this wonderfully wise piece.

Exquisite ..... and so sage. Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers along the route of your journey. Enjoy some of the innocence of youth while you have the chance ....because once it is gone....... it is gone forever.

Very Very good writing Joy. I truly enjoyed this piece.

Thank you all so kindly.
I do tend to write like I am older, lets hope that some of that spreads to my speech. I am a terrible speaker.
Nomadicrhymer,
Im sure your friend's daughter will figure it out. Especially if she has friends that like to keep her on the right track. They will tell her if something is wrong.

bloodletting_of_the_sky,
Thank you. I do take it as a compliment.

And Mysty.. I will not forget. thank you all

Ciao,
Joy

Dear Joy,

It all has been said but you a beautiful old soul. Your piece is simply exquisite and executed flawlessly. Yes please do balance that youth with your "older" self, lol. We are blessed to have you here with us to share in your wonderful work. I look forward to reading more from you. Take Care.

I don't think you need the parentheses...just use punctuation cuz it flows nicely. This is beautiful and morbidlly sad...and very real. This is very quality stuff.
