Why
Why

Bewildered, distraught
caught in the fray
how did it happen
I thought with dismay.

The eternal question
"What did I do?"
am awaiting an answer,
"Did I hurt You?"

The shame of it all
that the color of skin
determines your decision
my soul is flavored in Sin.

My heart cries out
I'm feeling the blame
knowing it's not my fault
yet still there is still the shame.

Because I am white
because I am a woman
because I am not black
because I am not a man.

Why?.....

haha Mysty...you had to go there (after our chat it's pretty funny and I'll always look at this piece differently) ... This has a very nice rhythmic flow and makes you want to crawl into the writer's head to find out more...you kinda leave us hanging....why?

hi mysty ... in the short while i've been a member here i've come to expect only the best from you ... and you haven't disappointed ...

Okay mysty, that was cute. Damn it's funny that regardless of what color your skin is, we all feel shame on someone eles's illegitimate hate of us based on skin. That is crazy! I've never heard a white person's experience of hatred. It's hurtful, huh? Girl I feel you. Although I have not been hated alot on my skin, or at least it haven't been brought to my attention, more than once, but I was in tenth grade when it did, and girl I remember it like yesterday. It's funny (ironic) that you say "my soul is flavored in sin", a few people I know really do feel that way about certain nationality's of people. I like the way you worded that. Magnificent! You Go Girl! Don't feel bad girl, it happens to best of us. Just keep it Movin' and don't waste too much of your valuable time trying to understand it, there is no answer! People are wierd and just think different. accept that and just pray for them!

Dear Comika..... as you come to know me .... you will find ... I am an empath. I feel all peoples pain. So much has been done to all colors.... all in the name of freedom. Freedom from work, freedom from suppression, freedom from unwanted expectations. I cannot even watch the news very much anymore. It is all bad news..... and so much pain comes with that. This is why I try .... everyday I try to keep positive... and for the most part I succeed. You know almost any color can fit in there where I put white.... it is humanity .... what we do to each other in the name of humanity. It kills me. Anyways hon thanks for Reading....
