    “Touched”

    Slightly “touched”
in the head, they called it.
    She sat…
    vacantly staring
    twitching one eye
tick, tick, tick, at the sky.
    Suddenly!…a busy cloud…
    shaped faintly like a dog
    appeared ferocious!
    white…with teeth bared, it
loped along before her eyes, so
    she jumped screaming
    “that’s it!”, “that’s it!”
    “the Dog…Daddy!”
    “It’s the Dog!”
    “he’s gonna get me!”
    “he’s growling…look…look!”
    Worried...
    her father spun around
    staring at the sky
    seeing
    nothing.
    Thinking
    in his mind
    even as he held her
    comforting,
that she was so very strange
and what was he to do?

    Therese,

Curious indeed, but typical of a child. Daddy's need to be very sensitive to what the eyes of the little ones see. they have such wonderful imaginations. It is really good to see that you still have yours.

    My Fav:

I could see the dog too! I'm not crazy am I?

LOL! I hope not, Jer! Much thanks for reading...

    Dear Therese,

This was pure love. You brought the (loving and scary) world in all its simplicity, amazement and wonder through her curious eyes to us. I really loved this, made me all warm and fuzzy. Ya know, when reading this I instantly thought of Zaac and his little girl. (and his love for her). I could picture them having this conversation. Thank you so much for scribing this. It's ivory soap pure made with love.

    Kim :)

This is the exact conversation my cousin had with his father while I was there last summer, although at that time the scary dog was a vampire bird. (he had watched discovery channel with his brother that day.)

I agree with all the others, and am happy you haven't lost your imagination nomad (I've seen many people who have) ;).

As i am still a child who sees dogs and maybe vampire birds in clouds, i hope my imagination doesnt fade, and in case i see it do that, i'll gather some more imagination, hehe.

    Wonderful :)

ME! hi...how ARE you?!?! I hope you are doing well...and I can remember being consumed with imagination...whether I was engrossed in clouds and their shapes, or my doll's activities, or just some made up story in my head (I grew up an only child, even though I had 5 brothers and sisters) so I am so glad that your imagination is still going strong...this is a promise that it will not fade...LOL!

Thanks so much for your precious comments and for reading as well, chica!!:give_heart2:

This shows a child's imagination very vividly
and then a father's love. It's very original
and well written. I really like it and enjoyed.
Thanks for sharing with us, very well done!:rainbow:
